Tammy Pahel, Principal Tammy Pahel is well known in the spa and fitness industry due to her accomplishments, business strengths, industry contributions, and devotion to her clients. Ms. Pahel’s accomplishments include creative design; revenue generation and profitability; creative marketing; public relations recognition, operator improvements, and increased customer satisfaction. Visionary instincts to develop a world class spa, ability to motivate others to higher levels of achievement through dynamic participative leadership, and creative operational marketing resulting in increased revenues and profits are Ms. Pahel’s business strengths that earned her the respect and gratitude of her clients, like The Spa at Caesars Palace, New York Hilton & Towers Spa, Aroma Wilshire Spa, Turnberry Isle Resort & Spa, Premiere Cosmetic Surgery & Medical Spas, Fairmont Hotel & Willow Spas, Loews South Beach Hotel, St. Andrews Country Club & Spa, and Frenchman’s Creek Country Club. Ms. Pahel began her career in 1990 as a retail product manager for Nemacolin Woodlands Resort & Spa where she increased square footage productivity in just two years from $133 to $833 per square foot. Then as Executive Director she enhanced service offerings resulting in a “Top Ten” ranking by Conde Nast Gold List of Spas; she initiated participative leadership and creative marketing resulting in increased revenues and profits; she developed a media kit and contact program that resulted in national coverage in Glamour, Vogue, People, Resort Hospitality, Family Circle, Working Woman, Health, Travel Agent, Essence, Self, and The New York Post; she improved operator effectiveness and skills by initiating the spa manual, lectures by medical community, massage therapist training by Robert King, cosmetologist training by CIDESCO, and by implementing an employee 4 day/40 hour work week; she involved the spa & salon in several local TV shows, developed the Spa Newsletter and cross-promotional programs, all of which increased local and feeder market volume; and she developed a complete Signature Spa product line. For Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, she consulted, opened and directed their 20,000 sq. foot spa. She conceptualized the core identity around a holistic, pampering approach and unique services including 13 Ayurvedic options in a unique variety of settings; designed and implemented off property training that saved the Biltmore over $75,000 in its pre-opening expenses; and developed a national and local marketing program that successfully increased sales. As Spa Director at The Spa at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas (30,000 sq. ft spa & salon with 100 associates), she exceeded start up volume as a result of offering complete and unique massage services including international rituals, and achieved annual revenue averaging $6,000,000 with a 30% profit. All great industry leaders give back to their industry. Ms. Pahel has followed suit by serving for four years on the Boards of Directors of the International Spa Association and American Aesthetics Education Association, and is currently on the Advisory Board of Healing Arts Guide Magazine. She is also performing committee work for the International Spa Association. Further, she is sharing her knowledge by speaking at the Spa & Resort Expo & Conference, and assisting in the development of the spa management curriculum for Lynn University, Miami, FL. The incentive for all this hard work is her love of the spa industry and her devotion to her clients. All her clients will attest to how she created a spa environment for them that truly pleased their customers resulting in profitable and enjoyable operations based upon customer satisfaction. Ms. Pahel received her formal education at Penn State University in Business Administration and Marketing.
Scott Vogel, Vice Principal Scott Vogel has been involved in the spa and hospitality industry for over seventeen years and brings with him an emphasis on planning and spa development. He provides significant organizational strengths, management and operational skills. Mr. Vogel injects the key element of “creativity” that greatly enhances the spa development and operational process to ensure a controlled opening, successful operations, quality services and generous profits. The return on investment is always an objective and reality in Mr. Vogel’s execution of his responsibilities. Whether it is a 3,000 square foot spa or a 30,000 square foot spa, the key operational elements must be fine-tuned to produce success, and this is where Mr. Vogel demonstrates his talents. Mr. Vogel has assisted with the opening of the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa, The Spa at Caesars Palace, Turnberry Isle Resort and Spa, New York Hilton & Towers, St. Andrews Country Club and Frenchman’s Creek Country Club. In the spa planning process, Mr. Vogel effectively coordinates the design and implementation of the spa, develops business and marketing plans, develops national and local marketing campaigns, creates and implements spa DVDs, and implements spa gift card programs. All of these activities successfully increase spa revenues and profits. Regarding personnel, Mr. Vogel has developed operational manuals and standards for all aspects of spa operation, has recruited, hired, motivated, and evaluated staff both operational and administrative positions, developed operating training standards, and created awards and sales incentive programs. For accounting control, he has created, implemented and monitored all functions of payroll, purchasing, inventory
control, cash handling procedures, cost control procedures and created monthly consolidation reports analyzing all aspects
of generated revenue broken down by business class. Mr. Vogel received his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University in psychology. |
